IM2D Webinar

Presenting the Simulation Box for Disruptive Electronics

Live Webinar on 27 April 2022 at 14:00 (CET)

We are happy to announce a Webinar open to industry and academy to present the IM2D simulation platform. This integrated, standardized, interoperable software solution, the final product of the INTERSECT project, was conceived to sustain the material-aware simulation of semiconductor devices and accelerate your technology development.

IM2D is based on a multi-physics and multiscale approach with a focus on novel, complex, “real life” materials deployed in actual device architectures. It conjugates the advantages of material and device-driven simulation software, connecting the properties of materials at the atomistic level to the electrical behavior of devices. The final aim is to reduce the gap between materials and device realms.

IM2D supports two main research workflows:

  • Material-to-Device: Optimization of device-design capabilities by understanding and predicting the device performance, starting from the material properties and fabrication process effects.
  • Device-to-Material: Optimization/screening of material-design capabilities by exploring new materials and new compounds, starting from the desired electrical performances of the electron device.

The webinar will introduce the IM2D platform main features through real application cases. Join us whichever is your background, as the software is adaptive to support different levels of expertise when fine-tuning its parameters.

Date and time: Wednesday 27 April 14:00h – 15:00h (CET)

Draft Programme

Moderator (5 minutes Intro at 14:00h):
Dr. Arrigo Calzolari
INTERSECT Project Coordinator, CNR Nano
14:05 – 14:20The challenge
Electrical device optimization & design, reliability prediction and process optimization through material properties calculations/characterization and “connection” to electrical device behaviour.
Prof. Luca Larcher, Applied Materials.

Industrial partner (TBD)
14:20 – 14:30The answer
How is INTERSECT tackling the need to enable fast (for non-experts) extraction of atomic properties from electrical tests and identify material properties and dopants?
Prof. Pablo Ordejón, Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2).

Prof. Luca Larcher, Applied Materials
14:30 – 14:55Live demo of the IM2D simulation platform
